During this time of great energetic change on the planet it becomes increasingly important for proper self care. What I found easiest to do that bring great results, is to set 15 to 20 minutes aside for daily chakra clearing and balancing. Just like we shower daily and brush our teeth we should tend to our bodies most important energy system, our chakras.

I like to share below the chakra balancing meditation I do daily. It is very relaxing, balancing and empowering and you might find it easy to make this part of your daily routine. 

Chakra Balancing Meditation

I do this sitting up with my spine straight but please follow your guidance on what position is most comfortable or appropriate for you. Take a few nice deep breath to center yourself and to return to the present moment. Feel your body relaxing. Set the intention to clear, balance and vitalize your chakras. 

Now draw your awareness to your lower abdomen and pelvic region. This is where your first chakra or root chakra is located (Sanskrit word for this chakra is Muladhara). The color of this chakra is red. As you breathe in and out, smoothly and softly, hold your point of focus on the first chakra. Counting from 10 to 1 helps to stay focused.
Now, visualize the color red. Imagine the color red beginning to flow into your first chakra.
With every in-breath, visualize the color red flowing into and filling up your first chakra and with every out-breath feel it releasing and letting go. 
Allow a few moments for the root chakra to fill up and balance itself.

Draw your awareness now to the area below your navel. This is where your second chakra or sacral is located (Sanskrit word for this chakra is Svadhisthana). The color of this chakra is orange.
As you breath in slowly and evenly hold you awareness on this chakra for a few moments. Counting from 10 to 1 helps to stay focused.
Now, visualize the color orange. Imagine the color orange beginning to flow into your second chakra. With every in-breath, visualize the color orange flowing into and filling up your sacral chakra and with every out-breath feel it releasing and letting go. 
Allow a few moments for the sacral chakra to fill up and balance itself.

Now draw your awareness to your stomach and solar plexus area. This is where your third chakra or solar plexus chakra is located (Sanskrit word for this chakra is Manipura). The color of this chakra is yellow. As you breathe in and out, smoothly and softly, hold your point of focus on the third chakra. Counting from 10 to 1 helps to stay focused.
Now, visualize the color yellow like sunflower yellow. Imagine the color yellow beginning to flow into your solar plexus chakra.
With every in-breath, visualize the color yellow flowing into and filling up your third chakra and with every out-breath feel it releasing and letting go. 
Allow a few moments for the solar plexus chakra to fill up and balance itself.

Now move your awareness now to your heart region. This is where your fourth chakra or heart chakra is located (Sanskrit word for this chakra is Anahata). The color of this chakra is green.
As you breathe in and out, smoothly and softly, hold your point of focus on the heart chakra. Counting from 10 to 1 helps to stay focused.
Now, visualize the color green, like a beautiful saturated emerald green. Imagine the color green beginning to flow into your heart chakra.
With every in-breath, visualize the color green flowing into and filling up your heart chakra and with every out-breath feel it releasing and letting go. 
Allow a few moments for the heart chakra to fill up and balance itself.

Now draw your awareness to your throat. This is where your fifth chakra or throat chakra is located (Sanskrit word for this chakra is Vishuddha). The color of this chakra is blue.
As you breathe in and out, smoothly and softly, hold your point of focus on the throat chakra. Counting from 10 to 1 helps to stay focused.
Now, visualize the color blue. Imagine the color blue beginning to flow into your throat chakra.
With every in-breath, visualize the color blue flowing into and filling up your throat chakra and with every out-breath feel it releasing and letting go. 
Allow a few moments for the throat chakra to fill up and balance itself.

Draw your awareness now to your third eye. Your third eye is located in the middle of your forehead, directly above the top of your nose. This is where your sixth chakra or third eye chakra is located (Sanskrit word for this chakra is Ajna). The color of this chakra is indigo.
As you breathe in and out, smoothly and softly, hold your point of focus on the first chakra. Counting from 10 to 1 helps to stay focused.
Now, visualize the color indigo, a deep blue color. Imagine the color indigo beginning to flow into your third eye chakra.
With every in-breath, visualize the color indigo flowing into and filling up your third eye chakra and with every out-breath feel it releasing and letting go. 
Allow a few moments for the third eye chakra to fill up and balance itself.

Draw your awareness now to the top of your head. This is where your seventh chakra or crown chakra is located (Sanskrit word for this chakra is Sahasrara). The color of this chakra is violet.
As you breathe in and out, smoothly and softly, hold your point of focus on the crown chakra. Counting from 10 to 1 helps to stay focused.
Now, visualize the color violet. Imagine the color violet beginning to flow into your crown chakra.
With every in-breath, visualize the color violet flowing into and filling up your crown chakra and with every out-breath feel it releasing and letting go. 
Allow a few moments for the crown chakra to fill up and balance itself.

Now move your awareness to the area above your head, above your crown chakra. Visualize a funnel above the top of your head and visualize White Light pouring down from the infinite stream of source energy into the funnel on the top of your head.
Visualize the White Light pouring into this funnel. Hold this image in your mind’s eye for a few moments, and remember to keep breathing deeply and evenly while you do this.
Now allow the White Light to pour into your body through the funnel on the top of your head. Feel the White Light filling up each one of your chakras as it descends towards your feet.
The White Light is pouring into your crown chakra, and now into your third eye chakra.

Breathe in and out. 

Feel the White Light pouring into your throat chakra, and moving down past your throat into your heart, filling up your heart chakra with White Light.

Breathe in and out. 

Feel the White Light moving down from your heart into your solar plexus, filling up your solar plexus with White Light.

Breathe in and out.

Feel the White Light moving down from your solar plexus into your abdomen, filling it up with White Light.

Feel the energy moving down your pelvis and lower abdomen, filling that area up too.

Breathe in and out. 

Feel the White Light flowing down your legs, your hips, your knees, your ankles, your feet and down into the earth. Imagine the White Light going deep, down into the earth, grounding you with the earth while at the same time giving healing energy to the earth.

All of your chakras are now balanced. Time to go out into the world and share your light!
